I have no experience with these carbs, but have read they can be hard to tune. With no power valve , these would be my last choice for carbs. But given a little know how most things can be resolved.

This is a must read for you, and GTO Geoff ( since edelbrock comes up ) It explains your problem, how to cure it , and the history of these carbs , particularly the first 3 pages.

Yes, this is 100% street use right now. Street playing but no track use. It works great 80% of the time. It is the stab to WOT that needs tuned.

Yes, I was aware that Edel sold Holley carbs. I still have the Edel catalog [ 1979? ] that list Holley carbs under Edel part #s.

I guess in the end, my hopes are to tune the idle or part throttle to WOT. All else with these carbs is amazing, driving wise. I suppose, now that I have transfer slot exposure, they may change more than expected. Below zero temps and winter here, no driving anytime soon. With all of the sizes of bleeds known now, I hoped to pick people's brains about those specific issues. Thank you all and I will keep researching

Rg,
Not sure when Edel first started selling the AFBs, but I believe it was late 80s/early 90s.

GSS,
I think your latest post shows a very sensible approach to carb tuning a 'toy' car; ie not getting too hung up on numbers. Good luck with it!
