I'm mostly thinking of carburetors with mechanical secondary.
I myself have experienced and read about others who noticed that changing only MJ affected idle even though it shouldn't because MJ is so much bigger than IFR.

Tuner referred to these as the first 3 circuit Holley carb . You can see that the Idle fuel and transfer slot fuel are separated
