1/10 of a degree

Shrinker mentioned on the now defunct Motorsportsvillage forum that he used to tune with ignition timing with a 1/10 of a degree increments.
Does anyone know what he was using to do that?

After doing some more digging I came across a post where Shrinker mentioned the MSD 8977 programmable unit.
https://www.summitracing.com/parts/msd-8977This unit is no longer made by MSD so does anyone know what they now make that replaces it?

The Volkswagen guys seem to like the
cb performance black box. I don't have personal experience though.
