Racing Fuel Systems

I have 2 sets of 4224 660 carburetors I'm considering bringing back to life. But, some of the boosters have worked their way loose to a couple about to fall out. Will down leg boosters work as a replacement? Would their position be too low in the venturi?

My little knowledge of those tells me they worked well as they were, assuming an engine equipped to handle them. Unless I needed specifically to get more air thru them I might be inclined to replace them with the original design.
