Bleed/jet relationship

Postby Rat Bastid » Mon Aug 30, 2021 3:30 pm

I have a question for which I can’t find an answer. So here goes. Is there a relationship between the size of the idle feed restriction and the idle air bleed? In other words, if I reduce the IFR .008 should I reduce the IAB some to keep the relationship close? I’m having some tip in issues with tunnel ram stuff and I think that getting the IFR where I want it to get the idle clean and leaving the IAB where it was, or even a few thou bigger, again to get the idle clean is giving me that tip in issue.

Am I going the right way, or am I going off the rails?

"Tip in issues"
meaning off idle stumble
or
idle circuit transition to main circuit

Tunnel Ram carbs typically use a smaller idle feed with a smaller idle bleed, to make the transition metering last farther in the throttle opening. .008 is a lot to change on the idle feeds, what carbs and fuel?

I might leave the idle feed alone, just go down on the idle air bleed until the stumble clears. Might take up to .015... Is the idle feed in the stock location or moved to the bottom?

Try some .028 feeds, start around .060 bleeds.

I realize this is an older post, curious as to how the .028 IFR/.060 IAB panned out?
