Hi guys,
Does any one have experience with a Street Avenger 670 flaking and cracking?
I wanted to rebuild one but on opening it up i found the primary metering block cracked in several places.

Its LIST 80670-1 3615 which would indicate December 2005.
The outside still looks really nice and it doesn't show much wear so i figured it would be a good candidate to rebuild.

thanks

Nick

Looks like it had some water in it and it froze causing expansion cracks.
With today's watered down fuel, its easy to see that the alcohol used to make the fuel "oxygenated" absorbed water from the atmosphere.

That could be, yet the secondary metering block looks fine.
Google told me that there was a casting issue late 2005 till early 2006. For some reason the casting alloy was not as Holley specified and therefore it didn't tolerate fuel.
Mine is from this time slot, so I send Holley a few pictures for advice.
If only the primary metering block has issues changing it will fix it, but if all the zinc parts have issues it might be scrap.

Well I did get a reply from Holley. They are sending me a new replacement. No questions asked.
This really does amaze me in a very positive way. :)

That's cool. Holley really got hammered in the press a couple years ago for this deal. Guess it must have sunk in to their skulls. :)

Nick, is this the same Holley we spent so much time on a year or so ago?

Tom, no unfortunately not. That was a Brawler 570. This one is a "fresh" catch.
currently in running a 1850 with a few modifications.

This week the brand new replacement showed up :)
Really nice to see this kind of warranty.

I did take the new 80670-4 apart and it is a different beast than the old ones.
The weight difference is obvious, but the new one is also a 4 corner idle with regular mixture screws.

The transfer slots are pretty long and the Pmab is huge.

that's interesting, how does it not have a PV?

Well it does have a primary 6.5PV. The secondary block isn't machined for this.
