I used Dave Cunningham (Woodruff Carb Specialties) for a very nice recoating of some cast zinc Holley parts last year, but don't know if someone here does Alodine dipping for recoloring aluminum parts (bowls, bodies, etc.).

If there's no "on board" source for this service, what alternatives can people suggest? I'm not looking to set myself up to do the work, so it's definitely a case of farming out the job, should the need come up. Thx

I've been using alodine for years and it works good on zink parts if thats what you want to know. Unable to show a pic, the file is too big message, but the color is a nice grayish, very durable, I've done circletrack carbs 10-15yrs ago that still look great. I bought mine from a helicopter supply place and its just a lump that I chisel a chunk off and add it to the bucket once a year or so. I doubt they still sell it like that.

Yes, I use it occasionally. got to knock off surface oxidation for it to take hold.
