I have ordered some stepped down leg boosters to convert a couple 3310-2 780 cfm Holleys .These carbs had straight boosters unlike the original 3310-1. Since it is still winter here I won't be able to do any testing till spring . May order some annular boosters also.

FYI

Received .140” and .160” downleg stepped threaded boosters today.

I.D of booster (that the air flows through)

.140” = .375”
.160” = .430”

I.D. drilling - the .140” and .160” is the angle hole only. Horizontal hole where the thread is, is about .185”

Thread is 5/16” - 32

Hello
Has followed the thread with interest.
Got my downleg annular booster today.
And I wonder how to get out the insert to drill larger holes.
Or is it possible to drill at an angle if it remains in place.

Hi Now I have been all day trying to get the booster apart, no success it does not move the slightest.
If I pull harder, something will break or bend.
Did you use heat or cold?
What do you think about drilling them where they are?

Put like this in a vice with soft jaws

Image

Use correctly sized socket to tap out. The booster will keep dropping down the vice, just keep resetting until booster insert out.
Drill holes .052”.
Press back in with vice.
