Pro Systems 1200 Dominator trans brake problems

Postby AMPP » Wed Jul 05, 2023 4:10 pm

Hello, I have a 1200 Pro Systems Dom on a 565 BBC drag car. Nitrous car. The converter is super tight because I leave on the engine then the bottle comes on when I release the brake. The engine will take the converter to 3400 max. When I set the brake, if I stab the throttle quickly the engine hesitates to rev up quickly. If I roll onto the throttle its a bit better. The RPM comes up to about 2800 fairly quickly then takes 2-3 seconds to get to 3400. I have the 2 step shut off because I don't need to hit the tire any harder than it does and I want all the start line RPM I can get. This carb has been a pain in the you know what since new. Patrick doesn't want to help. I borrowed a 1150 out of the box Holley 3 circuit, it seemed to be more responsive, but I never spent any time making changes. With the 1150 it was off almost 10 MPH, off the bottle. The car is heavy, tight converter, 3.55 gear, and 275 Radial.

Any help is appreciated.
