Fuel pressure

Hi guys. I'm wondering how many of you run a fuel pressure regulator on your street car; and if you do, is it a dead head or a return type.

I run a bypass style regulator.I have 10AN feed and return lines and maintain 5.5 psi with dual carbs and 4 needle and seats.I will say you can barely hear the fuel pump now looping around at low pressure vs when it had a dead head regulator.

Mallory 250 pump, 4 port return regulator, bottom feed needle and seats at 4.5 psi. You can’t have too much fuel pump.

No mention of engine HP or expected fuel delivery.
Carter 4600 pump is rated at 100 gph, 4-8 psi, internally regulated. Most reliable of the external aftermarket pumps. And cheap. Work on the engine consuming 25 gph per 300 hp & allow a safety factor.

Carter 4601 Elec pump with Mallory 4309 bypass reg. Delivers about 90 gph at the carb. Enough to support over 1000 HP.
