Did your carb have idle bypass air?

Yes, same as in your pic.
This only passes a very small amount of air. My understanding is that it is really an idle mixture 'trim' screw for the pre-set idle mixture screws.

The real bypass air screw AFBs were like on the one on my GTO, a large brass screw located between the idle mixture screws, which were external & adjustable. This carb did not have an idle stop screw, idle speed was controlled by the brass screw.
