That was not exactly what I was suggesting, but oh well. Good used cores are not that hard to find are they?

Any thoughts on why the MAB design was changed? One MAB versus two? Benefits of one over the other?

Regarding the "extra" airhorn screws... I think Rochester implemented that change in like 85-86 on truck carbs.

I can't believe they are asking $700 for that thing, when it's just a bad copy of an emissions truck carb.

On the throttle arm / primary shaft.... I've seen some on ebay that appear to have a threaded shaft and bolt-on throttle arm. Looks like yours is staked like factory. Wonder if there are multiple China companies making these?
